I CROSSED AN OCEAN FOR YOU

Conjuring our families who traversed vast distances for future generations, moments of miracle, to remember, honor, and pay our respects to those who came before us. I Crossed an Ocean for You is a contemporary modern dance work rooted in finding meaning in what we have lost and gained in the process of immigration, moving through shifting geopolitical borders, in our quest to find safety. The sacrifices of fragmenting ancestry, weight of unraveling histories and memories, and intent on survival are ideas explored in the gestural, spiraling, continual movement vocabulary in this work.
